The Road to Distinguished

Our District is on the RISE!! Below is our performance and I am so excited about the possibility of becoming Distinguished. We need 13 more clubs to be at 8+ members, 596 member payments added and just 28 more clubs to get their Distinguished status. We are so close! Together, we can get there. Ask those guests to join your club, host open houses or come back to Toastmasters events, and keep striving to get those educational levels achieved. Below is where we are at as of 4/21/25. Stay tuned as these numbers RISE and as we continue to celebrate with you!

Our clubs and our members are the heart of our District and we recently learned that our UTSW Toastmasters Club created an amazing video to help describe what Toastmasters is and how it can benefit their employees. Please cheer them on by watching their sell the Sizzle of Toastmasters Video!
From UTSW Medical Center’s Instagram Post:
“Building leadership skills one speech at a time! Whether you consider yourself a pro or want to overcome your public speaking fears, UT Southwestern’s Toastmasters chapter is here to help! What’s in a word?

Sometimes, it’s not a word, but a person! This week, I want to highlight one of our very own, Tiffany Damskov! Tiffany is our Public Relations Manager for District 50 this year and is always going the extra mile to ensure that our What’s Up Wednesday’s go out on time, and that we have fun facts and our Words of the Week! Did you know that Tiffany is also in Rotary, supports Meals on Wheels and her latest achievement is being honored at the 33rd Annual Tyler Fire Department Awards Banquet! Here is the press release that the City of Tyler issued:
In June 2024, following a fatal residential fire where no working smoke detector was present, Tiffany Damskov and the South Tyler Rotary Club partnered with the Tyler Fire Department to install over 250 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and distribute fire safety materials to more than 700 residents. Their efforts were made possible through a grant secured by the Rotary Club and the support of its volunteers.
A huge and warm CONGRATULATIONS on a well deserved award, Tiffany! We are so proud of you, and are so grateful for your heartfelt service!
68 To Go!
With only 68 days left in this Toastmasters year, we have so much to be thankful for and a little bit of work left to accomplish. I strongly ask our clubs to support our District Spring Conference by signing your club up to attend the event. We need all of our clubs to participate in this exciting time! We need our District Council members to RSVP and join us for the Annual Business Meeting, and we know how many of our clubs are striving to achieve their DCP’s, new members and to go after goals that they set earlier in the year. Together, we are making a difference, not only within our community, but outwardly as well. When we can celebrate clubs making Distinguished, Select Distinguished, and Presidents Distinguished this early, it makes me smile! When we can share and celebrate our members and clubs like Tiffany, and UT Southwestern as they show us why they Toastmaster, it reaffirms how what we do, and how we show up, matters. We are a team, we cannot RISE alone, it takes us all, doing what we can to make these differences. Let’s use the gas we still have in the tank, let’s RISE together!
WE RISE!!
