If you hold multiple officer roles in the same club or different clubs, you must attend training for each officer role held. This can be completed by attending the officer-specific training sessions in multiple COT events. You do not need to complete the general session multiple times.

If you are the same officer in multiple clubs, you only need to attend one session. However, you must complete the evaluation form listing all club names/numbers so each club receives credit.

Yes. District 50 believes every officer trained semi-annually helps maintain the health and vitality of the clubs. This training provides additional insights and engagement that has not been utilized before.

Yes. For clubs to receive Distinguished Club Program (DCP) points, 4 officers must be trained in the summer and 4 officers must be trained in the winter. For the Super 7 award, all 7 officers must be trained in both the summer and winter.

Club officers may attend another district’s COT that offers the same mandatory 3–4 hour training format. Please complete this form:

Our Program Quality Director and/or COT Chairs will confirm attendance with those districts after you submit the form.

The training record is available to the PQD and COT team and is uploaded to the Toastmasters International site. The D50 dashboard reflects the number of officers who have received credit. You can also confirm attendance by emailing tliregistration@d50tm.org.

In District 50, the Summer COT sessions are held virtually. Find a comfortable space, have the ability to take notes, and come ready to participate. In-person sessions may be considered in the future.

We understand this may be the only method to join the COT training. Whether attending COT on your phone or computer, please rename yourself on Zoom to ensure you receive credit for attendance. You must rename yourself in all caps utilizing the 3 or 4 characters of your officer role, your first and last name, and club number (i.e. VPPR, JANE JOE, TOASTHOST CLUB #12345).

To receive full credit you must be present for each 1-hour session and complete the attendance evaluation in each session. The evaluation link serves dual purpose: attendance and feedback. Zoom attendance reports are also used for reconciliation.

Serving as a facilitator can count as dual credit:

• It can fulfill a Pathways prepared speech or elective
• Facilitating the officer role you currently serve also counts toward your club’s Distinguished Club Program points

You also strengthen your facilitation and engagement skills. It’s a win-win!
