What’s in a word?
This week’s Word of the Week is Oomph: Noun. /o͝omf/ Definition: A quality that adds energy, enthusiasm, or vitality; a certain pizzazz or excitement.. In a sentence: “Let’s bring some oomph to our speeches! Whether it’s adding flair to your delivery or infusing passion into your topic, show us how you can make your presentations pop!” Challenge: Throughout your speeches and conversations this week, try to incorporate “oomph” in creative ways!
100’s of Membership Building Ideas
Last week, we started our newest segment of building our membership. Here are 5 more ideas that you can use and bring to your club! If any of these work for you, we want to hear about it!
Ask to add a yearly calendar in the bag with purchases made at a local merchant.
Send club information to your local merchants via the Chamber of Commerce. Ask them to distribute it to their customers. This would include flyers.
Put small cards with the club website in all the public speaking books in your local library.
Add your club meetings to town printed or virtual calendar-printed items.
Get your club listed in the city’s community services calendar published through the Parks and Recreation Dept. (or equivalent)
