Toastmasters love to connect, so take advantage of it. Then add five new, dual or reinstated members with a join date between February 1 and March 31, and you’ll receive a special Talk up Toastmasters ribbon to display on your club’s banner. Qualifying clubs can also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)
Applications and payments for members with a join date between February 1 and March 31 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than March 31. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count towards Talk Up Toastmasters credit.
The winning clubs will be revealed online within a few weeks of the submission deadline. Winning clubs should allow up to 10 business days to receive their award.
What’s in a word?

This week’s Word of the Week is Toastmaster: Noun. Meaning (Merriam-Webster): One who presides at a banquet and introduces the after-dinner speakers. Definition: A skilled communicator and leader who facilitates meetings, delivers speeches, and helps others grow in confidence and public speaking.. In a sentence: “Being a Toastmaster has transformed my ability to speak with confidence and lead with impact.”
Challenge: This week, let’s celebrate what it means to be a Toastmaster! Use the word in your speeches, Table Topics, and conversations, and most importantly—share what Toastmasters means to YOU!
Contest Season and Competition
There is a saying that steel sharpens steel. Contests offer this type of challenge for our members who compete. So many times, we become comfortable speaking within our clubs and in front of our club family. When you branch out and see other Toastmasters speaking and competing at contests, it creates a safe environment to challenge ourselves to be at our best. Saturday, March 8th will be a day full of contests. If you have contestants competing, please say yes to volunteering to support the contest and the speakers. If you are asked to judge, please say yes. We can’t have contest season without speakers, role holders, and judges. To find a contest near you, go to our Contest Page.
Congratulations to our contestants who are moving on to the Division level contests that are coming up! We can’t wait to see you RISE to the occasion and make a lasting impact!
Cheers to all of our Contestants and Volunteers!
RISEing with you,
Kimberly Ross, DTM
