What’s Up Wednesday!!
“Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!” – Mae West
Happy Thanksgiving from Club Growth!
In the spirit of this holiday about gratitude, I would like to highlight a group deserving of our thanks: members. Thank you for serving as leaders in your club, area, and division as well as sponsors and mentors for new clubs, and club coaches for struggling clubs.
I also want to thank the Club Growth Team, often working behind the scenes, as they share their time and energy to support District 50 members in chartering new clubs and supporting clubs in education and membership growth.
Let’s all be grateful for the lifetime friendships we develop in Toastmasters.

FROM THE DESK OF PQD
As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to every member of District 50.
Your dedication to learning, growing, and supporting one another truly embodies the spirit of “being the ripple”. The positive impact you create —whether mentoring a fellow Toastmaster, stepping into leadership, or simply showing up with enthusiasm—extends far beyond our and into our communities.
I also want to extend a special thank you to the Program Quality team, whose tireless efforts ensure our members have access to meaningful events, enriching education and countless opportunities for growth.
Together we are building waves of inspiration, connection and transformation. Thank you for making District 50 extraordinary.
Happy Thanksgiving!

What’s in a word?
This week’s Word of the Week is Grateful: Adjective. Definition: Feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful. In a sentence: “I am so grateful for the supportive community at Toastmasters that helps me grow every week.” Challenge: This Thanksgiving week, let’s practice using “grateful” in our speeches and conversations. Even more importantly, let’s practice gratitude—take a moment to appreciate the people, opportunities, and little things that make life special.
A Heartfelt Thanks
I wanted to take a moment, take a breath, pause and thank everyone in our District. When I read this quote by Mae West, I couldn’t agree more. So many times, I have had “too much”. Too much laughter, too much friendship, too many moments that weren’t expected that turned into more than I could imagine. You see, it’s you, it’s us, that I am thankful for. This District, our members, and those whom we serve, are the heart of everything.
Today, many of you are traveling to be with loved ones, or perhaps, have people traveling to visit with you, or maybe you’re out running last minute groceries, cleaning, and prepping food for the big feast. Whatever it is that you find yourself doing, pause, take a moment, breath, and give thanks. This year, I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you to all of our District Leaders who give their time, their energy, and wisdom. I am grateful for a team who supports each other in all they do, in ways that make District 50, a wonderful place to be. For these things and so much more, I am thankful.
I hope that as we ramp into the crazy busy holiday season, you allow time for you and remember there is so much wonder in this world of ours to be grateful. On Thursday, my wish for you is that your pants expand, the football team you are cheering for wins, your gravy is smooth as silk, and your stuffing is fluffy but crunchy on top! May your pies be sweet and the leftovers be better than they were the first time around! Whatever you’re doing, I wish you and yours the very best this Thanksgiving holiday!
With thanks and gratitude,
Kimberly Ross, DTM
