 What’s in a word?This week’s Word of the Week is Boondoggle: Noun. lu·mi·nous /ˈbo͞onˌdäɡ(ə)l/. Definition: Work or activity that is wasteful or pointless but gives the appearance of having value. Verb. Waste money or time on unnecessary or questionable projects. In a sentence: “The team spent hours working on the project, only to realize it was just a boondoggle in the end..” Challenge: Throughout your speeches and conversations this week, try to incorporate “luminous” in creative ways! Whether you’re describing a bright idea, a shining example, or someone’s radiant personality, let your words shine. |
 Calling all District Council Members – Saturday, September 21All Presidents, VP of Education, Area Directors, Division Directors and Sr. 7 are asked to Register to receive the Zoom link and attend. We will review all of the appointed roles within the District, approve the annual budget and receive the Audit Committee report as here the goals of the District. To establish a quorum of 80 registered Presidents and VPEs for this meeting we need Presidents and VPEs to register as we’re not quite there yet with the magic number. **There are no proxy votes, so please register and join us, on Saturday, September 21st at 10 am. Zoom will open at 9:45 am. |

 Base Camp Outage – Happening Soon!Toastmasters International sent an email on September 6th entitled ‘A Base Camp outage is happening soon.’ letting us know that they are preparing to transition to the new system. To make this happen, there will be a Base Camp outage beginning October 9-October 25. They’re recommending that if you’re working on a project, you may want to download the details to ensure you can stay on track and don’t lose anything.
