Get Ready for Fall Fusion!
Fall Fusion is just around the corner, happening on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Collin College Frisco Campus. This exciting event promises a full day of growth, learning, and fun for all District 50 Toastmasters members! With three educational tracks—Harvesting Creativity, Fall into Successful Contests, and Leadership & Communication Fusion—there’s something for everyone.
We’ll kick off the day with a keynote from DeAdrian Maddox, followed by nine engaging sessions, networking opportunities in the Fusion Networking Café, and our Vendor Showcase. Be sure to check out the Mock Contest, hosted by Tyler Evening Toastmasters, to experience a live demonstration of how a well-run contest operates.
At the Awards Luncheon, keynote speaker Lawrence Thomas will inspire us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements within our district. Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and celebrate together!

This week’s Word of the Week is kerfuffle: Noun. /kərˈfəf(ə)l/ Definition: a commotion or fuss, especially one caused by conflicting views. In a sentence: “Don’t let any kerfuffle stop you from having a wonderful week!” Challenge: Throughout your speeches and conversations this week, try to incorporate “kerfuffle” in creative ways!
The Road to Distinguished
The Trio is proud to let District 50 know that we have received notification from Toastmasters International that we have met the first portion of the requirements needed to be eligible to be Distinguished. We were able to get the 2024 – 2025 District Success Plan, Budget, Marketing Plan, and Communication Plans as well as met the 85% Division and Area Directors trained by the September 30th deadline. This means that our first task, to meet our goal, is complete. Next up will be our fantastic Area Directors continuing to meet and work with our clubs to provide quality reports and feedback. Remember, this is a goal that will take all of us together. Please keep speaking and going after those educational goals, we can do this, together!
