Lennox International Toastmasters Club was chartered in 1992: thirty-one years ago. According to the Dashboards, their club has fifty-two members of which ten to fifteen attend weekly. Does your club have that problem? Would you like it to? Then read on.
Duncan Elliott, club Secretary, joined the club a year ago and intends to run for President for the next term. He joined the club for “The ability to get more experience speaking in public and learning from the amazing members in the club.”
“The encouraging culture. The meetings allow members to face the challenge of public speaking in a supportive environment. Evaluations prioritize celebrating wins and constructive feedback,” are the reasons Duncan attributes to the success of his club. He believes his club is special because “The club has a diverse group of members with a large range in life experience and public speaking know-how. It creates some interesting speeches and table topics.”
Members typically maintain their membership for three to four years depending upon their corporate roles, responsibilities, and availability. “Sponsoring a Toastmasters club is a valuable benefit to your employees and a great way to invest in their development. Toastmasters has created an engaging environment that allows people to try something new and connect with colleagues,” Mr. Elliot proclaims.
They conduct regular club meetings at the Lennox International Campus, 2120 Lake Park Blvd in Richardson Texas, every Wednesday at 12:05 P.M. Their meetings are hybrid which allows members and visitors to join across the Internet. If you are interested in attending, please contact them via Toastmasters International’s Find a Club site.
