Leadership experience is one of the aspects of Toastmasters membership. A principal mechanism for this training is through on-the-job activities as club officers. Without members in these roles, clubs fail. With exceptional members in these roles, clubs flourish.
Within District 50, we love to recognize achievements. Every member of every club is encouraged to acknowledge their outstanding club officers. You are not limited to nominating just one club officer. You are eligible to recommend every officer of every club to which you belong if you believe the officer warrants the attention.
MJ Presley, DTM has served as chair of the Outstanding Club Officer program for two years. He says, “My fellow Toastmasters, our fellow officers have worked hard for our club during the last term. Let’s show them how much we appreciate them and nominate them for being the ‘OUTSTANDING OFFICER’ they are.” Correct, you should nominate those club officers who excelled between 1 January 2022 and 30 June 2022.
As Kyle Elkins, DTM, the current co-chair for awards in District 50, says, “Way to go! You’re the best! We couldn’t have done this without you!” He adds, “Oh, I wish I had nominated our club officers!” Don’t let this be your regret.
We’re asking for nominations of club websites and social media as well. The results will be announced at the Fall 2022 District 50 Summit. Please take the time to consider each club officer for every club to which you were a member.
Use the online form (see below) provided by District 50 to submit your nominations. The deadline is 9 October 2022. Take the time you need, but get those nominations in before the deadline.
