As Senior Manager Position, Bahman was responsible for System Engineering of ALL Alcatel USA Cross-Connects and wideband products.

Charlene Burroughs is a teacher, trainer, speaker and leader. A graduate of Wiley College, Charlene was a classroom teacher for 22 years. Upon leaving the classroom she moved into central administration as a trainer. After a year, she left the training department and moved into management, where she became an Operations Executive for a deputy superintendent.

Charlene left that position to return to her love of teaching and learning. She became the district’s manager of ethics and integrity, where she developed the district’s first Handbook of Ethics and Integrity. She also developed ethics training for the district’s 22,000 employees. After 31 years in the school district, Charlene retired. She stayed home for two months before returning to work as a trainer for the Federal Reserve Bank. She retired again in 2017.

Professionally today, Charlene can be found doing one of two things: 1) Training as Co-Founder and Vice President/Talent Developer of School House Excellence, a company devoted to providing training and coaching to emerging leaders in public school education. 2) Traveling the United States training and speaking on a variety of subjects for an international seminar company.

D’Anne Brevetti comes with a background of more than 30 years in commercial real estate and residential housing management, serving both private and non-profit sectors. She has served on federal housing policy development committees, and as a national public speaker and corporate staff trainer traveling throughout the United States. She has a background in Geriatrics -Social Services Coordination and a trainer on supportive-senior living and caregiver challenges.

Professionally today, D’Anne can be found serving as a mentor to those who desire to advance their public speaking careers and “take to the stage”. She is an educator, consultant and motivator for a number of organizations such as National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA), a national certification organization for affordable housing mangers; Toastmasters (TMI), whose mission is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders; National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) , whose mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism; and, Women of Visionary Influence (WOVI), an organization with a mission to empower women to lead by mentoring others, making a difference in their communities and the world.

She currently serves as a Division Director in District 50 Toastmasters, Chair of the Benevolent Service to Veterans Committee (VAVS-RB-DAR), and Vice President of Administration for the Garland/Mesquite chapter of WOVI.

She is an active member in her church along with her husband Michael. She attended the NJ School of Ministry (Christian faith) serving in various ministerial roles, including pastoral counseling and crisis counseling to abused women and children; and an advocate to aged seniors who are in abusive situations.

She is the owner of Herb Essentials, a natural herb and health wellness distributor for NSP herbs and natural remedy essentials. She applauds all who work in directs sales for their entrepreneurial spirits.

David is a trial lawyer and a world champion public speaker. After graduating from law school at UT Austin in 2001, David initially went to work for a large law firm: Vinson & Elkins. Though he enjoyed the intellectual challenges of complex litigation, he wanted to be in the courtroom; so, he joined the Special Crimes Division of the district attorney’s office.

David has tried over 70 jury cases to a verdict, ranging from human trafficking to aggravated sexual assault to capital murder. David was so successful in court that the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association (TDCAA) invited him to train other attorneys across the state, including at TDCAA’s semi-annual Trial Skills Course and at its advanced trial skills schools. David’s main subjects were storytelling, using visual aids, and jury selection. From his first presentation, David was one of TDCAA’s most highly rated speakers. He is a published author on Trial Magazine. Additionally, during his time at the DA’s Office, David was named local Criminal Justice Member of the Year and received the President’s Award for outstanding service from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

To improve his courtroom skills, David joined Toastmasters International. In 2010, he won the World Championship of Public Speaking after competing against over 30,000 contestants from 113 countries. Though he competed to become a better trial lawyer, David delivered his best speech outside the courtroom, when he convinced Dr. Josephine Thinwa, to marry him. She liked his vows so much that she placed an etched a copy above their mantelpiece. When not in court, David enjoys teaching Bible classes with Josephine, serving on the Friends of the Dallas Public Library’s board of directors, and barbecuing as often as he can.

Dean Patterson has had a wide range of life experience, from sleeping on snow in the mountains near the Canadian border to surviving flash-floods in the desert of northern Mexico. His background is in hard science, having spent years in industry after receiving his Master of Science degree from Texas Christian University.

He later changed careers and spent over a decade teaching intelligence officers and federal agents at the federal training center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. He concurrently taught science classes at the College of Coastal Georgia while at the FLETC, and belongs to many scientific societies. He is now back home in Texas, still active in the Dallas Geological Society and the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.

A member of the Dramatist’s Guild, he is an award-winning playwright and novelist. He is actively sculpting his second thriller.

Derrich Phillips was born and raised in the city of Gary, Indiana. He achieved a Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University and currently works as the Founder and Chief Mentor at Mentor Select. He lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, daughter, and their dog.

In a varied and interesting life, Derrich has grown up in poverty in one of the most dangerous cities in the US, served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and worked with leading cybersecurity teams at Fortune 500 Companies. Now he is embarking on a new path, writing books that help people to break the poverty mindset. Poverty Powerball is the first in a planned series.

In his spare time Derrich has sky-dived and enjoys running marathons. He also served as Chairman for the North Texas Veteran Resource Network, which helps service members transitioning out of the military into the corporate world. He also volunteers at the Prison Entrepreneurship Program, which teaches prisoners entrepreneurship basics to help them start businesses upon their release.

Derrich would dearly love to leave a lasting legacy as a remarkable husband, father, philanthropist and servant leader. It is his dream to help over 1 million people break the cycle of generational poverty and he hopes that his books will go some way to achieving this.

Skip is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine, a speaker, and an amateur wrestling aficionado. He received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Masters in Public Health from the Uniformed Health Services University, Bethesda, Maryland. He served twenty-six years in the Army Medical Corps and spent thirty-seven months deployed and thirty of these in combat zones. He now works at the Hope Clinic in Waxahachie, Texas, helping to care for the medically underserved.

During his time in the Army he served in various roles as Clinic, ICU, and Department Chief. Later he was selected as Deputy Commander for Clinical Services (Chief Medical Officer) at Reynolds Community Hospital. However, the highlight of his career was serving as the (OIC) Officer-In-Charge of the 21st CSH-N (Combat Support Hospital North, in Mosul, Iraq, November 2003-Feb 2004. He was in charge of the: safety and provision for all 220 hospital personnel and all patients, patient care, all hospital operations, preparations for transport and air evacuation of casualties, and the seamless transfer of hospital operations over to the 65th Combat Support Hospital.

During his short tenure as OIC, Colonel Mondragon worked closely with Major General Petraeus, Division Commander of the storied 101st Airborne Division, and his stellar staff. This experience gave him a whole new perspective on the role of warfighter as caregiver.

Skip has been involved with wrestling for 50 years as a competitor, coach, booster. He won a National Veterans Championship in 2015 and was a Runner-Up in 2016. In his last 2 years of active duty Skip succumbed to depression. During his recovery, he shared his story before he retired from the Army. Skip draws upon the lessons learned as a wrestler and his background as a physician as he shares his story.

James Donahue Mitchell born July 25, 1964 is an American motivational speaker, author, radio show host, stage/film actor, and small business owner. As a motivational speaker he is known as the MADD Motivator. He is the host of radio show Kingdom Talk 365.

His dream of becoming an actor came true after performing in several stage plays and productions in the Dallas metroplex area. The highlight of his film career was when he became a cast member of the Fox/Universal sitcom Good Guys.

Jim Key comes from a background in computer technology, sports, music, leadership, and public speaking. After entering the world of Information Technologies in 1987, Jim developed an IT consulting practice, working with leaders and managers from national non-profit organizations, manufacturing companies, and service companies across the United States. Additionally, he has volunteered for many years in his community and church, working with children and teenagers in various capacities for 20+ years.

Jim’s volunteerism and information technologies background converged in 1996, as he brought much needed automation to a national youth development program. His efforts led to an invited position of serving 6 years on the national steering committee for this youth program, and to a cutting edge computerized solution that is still in use today. Additionally, participation in the program more than quadrupled during those 6 years of Jim’s influence and involvement.

She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and spent two years on International Hall, which opened up the doors to being fully immersed in the multitude of the world’s cultures, religions, and customs.

Lisette joined Toastmasters in June 2009 to keep the memory of her father who passed away in 2008 alive; especially since he was denied membership in the 1960s. Since then, she has competed regularly in Humorous Speech, Table Topics, Evaluations, Tall Tales, and International Speech Contests garnering awards at the Club, Area, Division, and Districts levels. While strengthening clubs, Lisette had also achieved success in leadership being nominated as Area Governor of the Year 2010 -2011 and Division Governor of the Year 2011- 2012. Lisette constantly relies on her Toastmasters mentors and members to remain engaged and motivated to helping others achieve their full potential.

Professionally today, Lisette can be found empowering Business Staff at the Corporate Headquarters of a Senior Living Management Company as the Assistant Corporate Trainer since March 2012. Voluntarily through her Church, she is actively engaged in teaching High School Students Faith Formation to become confirmed in their religion in preparation for the transition to adulthood through weekly class sessions. She is also actively involved in empowering women through her Church Retreat Continuing Education weekly sessions.

Monnica Rose graduated from Southern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. For over 30 years, she has worked in the defense industry. Ms. Rose is currently employed by L3 Technologies as a Senior Mechanical Engineer where she is a Team Lead for several aircraft/ground station modification platforms.

Monnica’s leadership extends beyond the workplace as she has served in several leadership roles at the district and international level in Toastmasters International. She also board member for Women of Visionary Influence (WOVI) and serves as Vice President of Programs for the North Dallas WOVI chapter.

As an engineer, Toastmaster and volunteer in the community, Monnica has mentored, motivated and encouraged many in achieving their goals.

When she isn’t running half marathons, you can find her cheering for her New Orleans Saints, solving Sudoku puzzles or reading the latest book on leadership.
